I do what a lot of guys do and just dick around at home with my guitars. I borrowed a friends Mesa Triaxis and this is fitting in exactly. Currently, a rack tube preamp seems to be the way to go for what I need it to do. He was 'amazingly nice' and after talking with him about my situation, he offered to do the repair himself. Im trying to learn about Marshall rack preamps. Dealing with him was on the other end of the spectrum from Genz Benz. The 3300 amp? Well, after collecting dust for 6 years, I finally traced down it's designer, the innovative 'BK Butler'. I would go as far to say, that they demonstrated the 'worst' customer service experience I had experienced up to that point, and I've dealt with some real A-holes in my lifetime.Ī word to the wise- 'AVOID GENZ BENZ', unless you truly enjoy dealing with thieves. I have to say that the person(s) I spoke with, were rude, insulting and overall unpleasant. I told them I was sending it back, as it was still not working, they stated at that point, that they will "no longer repair the Tube Works line." They inferred I was pretty much 'screwed', and would not even consider a refund. When I called them to ask why they did not repair it, they 'claimed' they had fixed the problem, which was of course, total crap.

They billed me $200 plus shipping, for the repair and sent it back in the same condition (Dead). Now, in trying to have it repaired, I discovered that 'Genz Benz' had taken over the company. This Tube Works 3300 amp smoked them all.

As a full time 'working' musician, I've used SVT's, SWR's, A.M.P's GK's, Eden's, etc. This amp is a monster, that kicked ass with tons of great tone and volume, every single night I played. I used it 42 weeks a year- 6 nights a week, performing in all the major ( and minor) casinos in Nevada, for over 6 years. The VT999 is the only overdrive that I have found to date that matches the tone of the BK Butler. For the last 30 years it has been the Standard by which I judge all overdrive effects and I have tried just about everything else out. I've got a Tube Works 2x10 RT 3300 combo with the 1x15 ported Tube Works cabinet. I own one of the original Tube Works BK Butler designed Real Tube Overdrives.
